About the Event

You know that practicing mindfulness and mindful eating can heal a person’s relationship with food. Yet the pull of diet culture makes it challenging to teach mindful eating. This 2 part workshop will give you the coaching tools you have been craving. Join Megrette Fletcher, M.Ed., RDN, CDCES, as she provides foundational Motivational Interviewing Training that supports mindful eating.

This program will help you understand how the spirit of motivational interviewing aligns with the principles of mindful eating. You will practice your new skills by participating in Motivational Interviewing and Mindful Eating role-play. Learning Motivational Interviewing to support the practice of mindful eating will elevate your coaching skills.

Participants will also receive a complimentary workbook to accompany the course.

Learning Objectives:

    1. State what PACE stands for in Motivational Interviewing

    2. Identify two ways Motivational Interviewing overlaps with Mindful Eating

    3. Demonstrate the use of Motivational Interviewing in Mindful Eating through role play

    4. State two ways Mindful Eating and Motivational Interviewing reinforce autonomy.

    5. State two ways Motivational Interviewing, as a way to teach mindful eating, provides patient-centered care.

    6. Apply Motivational Interviewing techniques in a complex reflection activity
