Introduction to Mindful Eating - TCME Presentation 06.01.20.pdf
*Please note that this webinar is part of the Exploring Mindful Eating Series and does not offer CE credits
This webinar will provide a thorough introduction to mindful eating for people new to the idea and practice.
Mindfulness is the capacity to bring full attention and awareness to one’s experience, in the moment, without judgment. Mindful Eating brings mindfulness to food choice and the experience of eating. It helps us become aware of our thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations related to eating, reconnecting us with our innate inner wisdom about hunger and satiety. Through this webinar participants will learn what mindful eating is and is not, the benefits of eating mindfully, and tools and techniques for practicing mindful eating.
Linn Thorstensson is a registered Nutritional Therapist, based in Co.Cork Ireland, with a special focus on helping people heal their relationship with food and eating, through a mindful eating and self-compassionate approach. She is passionate about helping people make peace with food and to (re)learn how to nourish themselves in ways that are kind and caring, rather than restrictive and punishing.
When we are well nourished and not obsessed with weight any longer, we have so much more capacity to focus on the things we truly value in our lives. That is why She loves doing this work.
Linn holds a three year degree in Nutritional Therapy, certifications in mind-body medicine and Mindful Eating. She is one of three directors for the board of Nutritional Therapists of Ireland and a board member and the current secretary of The Centre for Mindful Eating.
When she is not found reading, writing or in clinic, she tries spending most of her time in nature, with her dogs, with friends and in deep conversation.
