How can we bring mindful eating to the family meal? In our Summer 2013 Food For Thought issue, Mindful Eating and Families, we have the wisdom of Jan Chozen Bays, MD, who just happens to be a pediatrician. Megrette Fletcher, RD, dietitian, offers a review of resources and some simple ideas to get a parent’s creative juices flowing. Jean Kristeller, PhD, helps us connect with the child within our client. Finally, we are very pleased to welcome Karen Koenig, LCSW, M.ED. as our guest writer. She explains how mindful eating, despite our childhood experiences with food, can help establish consistent self-care.

We've also created a corresponding handout that professionals are free to use in their practices.
